Our need is simple. We occupy a facility that is close to falling down and could - quite easily - be condemned. Most people have heard of The Salvation Army and know quite a lot about my involvement in their work. Hendon Salvation Army is my church and they do fantastic work to help the community. It is great that they have been able to do what they do despite the limitations and condition of the facility. Work with alcoholics, local needy people and shut-ins as well as local rough sleepers runs well. So too does the work with mums and toddlers, the elderly and others. But to expand and develop these areas, a new facility is required desperately. The plan is for a new building with rooms and facilities that can facilitate the work and expand the effort into other local community work. The will, skills and plans are there to do this - now we just need the dosh. The church folk are doing well in raising funds but the amount required is enormous, hence my request to you now.

100 miles on a bike may not sound like much to some. To me - a short 60 year old fatty - it is some effort! My prep is going well and I mean it when I say that 100 miles for me on a bike is like doing my own tour de france!! Please, please support me.

I promise you that this is a good cause with many success stories of the work undertaken by The Salvation Army at Hendon
