Story

I was introduced to The Soldiers Charity in 2011, during Andy McMenemy's incredible "Challenge 66" (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-13475595). I was lucky enough to be able to run one ultramarathon with Andy in Salford and heard so many good things about the charity he was supporting, then when I went to York for the finish I met some of the amazing disabled soldiers that ABF have helped in different ways. I'm pleased to be able to do something different now to raise a few quid for ABF.

I've done exactly two abseils before. One from about ten meters, and one from about twenty, both down rocks. It's probably fair to say I didn't find it comfortable. Going higher will definitely challenge me!

Interesting fact: I'm 170cm tall, and the Spinnaker Tower is exactly one hundred times taller than I am. Yikes.
