Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page - this is the first time I've had one and fundraised for a charity directly so is very exciting! It's also the first time I've entered any sporting event since school...so that's very nerve-wracking!

Those that know me well are aware I've always been quite adverse to exercise and not very fit, so completing a triathlon (even a ‘Sprint’ one is a real personal challenge, particularly the 5k run - I really hate running! - after 22.5k cycle and 400m open water lake swim) but knowing we can help Save the Children transform the lives of children less fortunate than my own son, will keep me going (despite everything in my body wanting to stop!)

STC protect children from war, poverty, hunger, natural disaster and exploitation in both the UK and internationally. A few examples of how a donation could help:

• £12 could provide a hygiene kit with bucket, towels, cloths, soap, shampoo and laundry detergent
• £15 could provide enough medicines and supplies to ensure the safe delivery of a baby
• £19 could provide an emergency shelter kit with tarpaulin and rope
• £25 could provide water for a child in Ethiopia for five months or give a homeless child a safe bed for the night
• £37 could buy 150 portions of peanut paste to treat severely malnourished children
