Face masks for survivors

Freya Turner is raising money for Survivor Space Oxfordshire

Face masks for survivors · 16 May 2020

Survivor Space (formerly OSARCC) is the only organisation providing non-statutory, accredited, specialist support to survivors of sexual violence in Oxfordshire.  We support survivors of all genders, aged 14 and above, who have experienced any form of sexual violence – at no cost to them.

Story

I am sewing home made face masks to raise some money to support OSARCC, so they can continue providing vital services to survivors of sexual violence during this difficult time. We know that rates of domestic violence are increasing, and lockdown can be very triggering and distressing for some women who have experienced sexual violence, exacerbating anxiety, flashbacks and other mental health difficulties.

Meanwhile, we can all do our bit to lower rates of Covid infection by wearing a face covering while we’re out and about in shops etc!

Please donate what you can according to your income and budget. I suggest £5 to £10 per mask but I know this is a tough time financially for many, so please give what you feel you can afford.

Thanks for supporting me and OSARCC!
