We are a leading baby charity working to save babies' lives and support families

Story

On Saturday 2nd February 2013 my life changed forever when I found my precious baby daughter dead in her cot.

You can read the story of Matilda's death here http://www.edspire.co.uk/year_2013/02/04/dear-matilda-mae-the-night-we-found-you-sleeping/

As I battle my way through each day without Matilda I am comforted by friends and family. I am surviving by keeping busy and by knowing that sadly I am not the first Mummy to make this journey and regretfully I will not be the last.

Because of the people who have been so kind to me and for the people who I hope I can help in the future I want to raise awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and raise money for the foundation that supports families affected by it and carries out research into preventing it, SIDS, what we commonly know as cot death.

Every year since 2007 The Lullaby Trust has encouraged people to host Mile in Memory Walks to remember their loved ones and raise money for the charity. This year they have extended the event and changed mile to miles. We are hoping people will cover greater distances in a variety of ways, making magical memories, remembering Matilda Mae and raising money for the trust.

The official date for The Lullaby Trust's Miles in Memory is Saturday 9th May 2015.

This year instead of organising one big event David and I have decided to organise a Virtual Miles in Memory so that our friends and family around the UK can do something inspired by Tilda to remember her and to raise money for The Lullaby Trust.

I am incredibly honoured and pleased and emotional that the ever lovely Susanne is going to run the Virtual Hub(?) with me.

I am very sad that we cannot walk together this year. Susanne will be walking at Walton Gardens, as we did together, with the lovely Heather, last year.

We will be at coombe mill, family, farm and fishing holidays for Tilda's birthday and so are planning to walk our mile there and release some flowers into the river where we set her ashes sail.

If you would like to walk a mile, swim a mile, run or cycle some miles in memory of Matilda Mae, on your own or as part of a group we would love you to be part of our virtual miles event.

All you have to do is
