We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!

WE HAVE NOW MADE IT TO EVEREST BASE CAMP!! PLEASE READ BELOW FOR THE BACKGROUND TO OUR 'MISSION'!

This trek to the base of the grandest mountain in the world, Mount Everest, is dedicated to the lifes of those affected by Cancer, and in particular of Winn Singleton, wonderful mother of three and Croston girl born and bred.

One year ago, Winn died of Cancer. It started with Breast Cancer 15 years ago, which was treated, but years later the terrible disease moved to her liver and spine. This again was treated by both chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but several years after this it emerged again and sadly could not be successfully treated. She had to endure the mental trauma of the disease for over 15 years, as well as the awful physical traumas.

We all miss her dearly and would hope for people in the future to have as great a chance as possible of beating, or better living with, all forms of this disease. Cancer Research UK is a superb organisation that is providing funding to drive improvements and these can be seen every year.

Donating through JustGiving is simple and secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they will never send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they will send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by UK taxpayers.
