Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 2019 · 4 August 2019 ·

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for the 2019 Ride100.

For those that may or may not know, my sister Tess was diagnosed with Crohns Disease a few years ago. This is a chronic, inflammatory condition that affects the digestive system and associated functions, causing immense physical pain and unpredictable symptoms. It has and continues to put immense strain on her, our family and its support system, so I am taking part in this 100 mile ride to fund critical research into Crohn's, Colitis and IBD.

There is currently no cure for Crohn's, but I have it in good faith from Tess's treatment network that if momentum continues at this rate, the condition is in fact curable in her lifetime - so any and all donations are greatly, greatly received and will be put toward life-changing research.

I have set a very low target of £650; however if this page goes beyond £1000, I'll go full Chris Hoy and shave my legs especially for the ride. For anyone that has seen my legs, this will probably take more effort than the ride itself...although the improved aerodynamics may help.

Thank you for reading and for your generous donations - I'm immensely proud of my Little Sister and my parents for their strength and courage when dealing with this, so it's now my turn to give something back.
