We Raising funds for stem cell research to save and improve people's lives

Story

On the 20th May, Jon Russell, Jon Cope, Matt Simmonds and Matt Thornton will be attempting to complete "The Three Peaks Challenge" in under 24 hours - we're sure you all know what this is but just in case an overview is useful - The Three Peaks Challenge is an attempt to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in one go.

These peaks are Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, and Snowdon in Wales. This is a collective vertical height of 3408 metres and a distance of 27 miles. There is also a distance by road of 462 miles to be taken into accountThis is a tough event - to complete the event in under 24 hours - to do this we need to complete Ben Nevis in 5 hours, Scafell Pike in 4 hours and Snowdon in 4 hours. Whilst this is a personal challenge, the main reason for doing it is to raise awareness and money for the UK Stem Cell Foundation.

What this charity aims to achieve could potentially be life-changing for
many. Stem cells have the potential to treat conditions such as spinal
cord injury, heart attacks, strokes, blindness, cancer, diabetes, multiple
sclerosis, bone and cartilage damage amongst others. The UK Stem Cell
Foundation fund the research required to help the body cure itself if you, or your loved ones, are unfortunate enough to suffer from these conditions. This is particularly close to my heart as a great friend of ours has suffered a spinal cord injury and this charity gives both him, and all of us, hope.

Please take time to visit the website to understand the
importance of this cause.
