Story
Many of you may already now that my life changed irreversably at 10:55am - 7th April 2008, when my sister, Tracey Partridge lost her battle with Cancer.
During her rapid deterioration, had it not been for the support above and beyond that which was required from the staff at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Backford, Chester, Tracey and all of those who cared for her, would of struggled to cope.
Some of you may be reading this, with no comprehension of the services they provide (and indeed I hope you may never know), suffice it to say, those who have never been denied there dignity at the end of their lives, made comfortable at every opportunity and were genuinely cared for, would thank them if they could.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank them and make a my own personal contribution so that they can continue to provide this most vital of services, to those persons who need it most.
For my part , I will commit to training my unfit, shapeless form for the nest 6 months, in order to complete the average of 6 hours a day trekking the various sections of the Great Wall over 5 days.
DAY 1: Trek the Great Wall at Mutianyu. 4 hrs
DAY 2: Trek in Black Dragon Paw Park. 6-7 hrs
DAY 3: Trek the Great Wall at Gubeikou. 5-6 hrs
DAY 4: Trek the Great Wall at Jinshanling. 6-7 hrs
DAY 5: Trek the Great Wall at Simatai. 4 hrs
Your part?? I hope its obvious - spare as much as you can to ensure that the Hospice of the Good Shepherd can continue the good work.
Oh and watch and laugh as I post pictures and evidence of a very out of breath, red faced man???
