To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Friends of ANCHOR charity I am doing another crazy running challenge to raise funds for this amazing charity in memory of my sister Kathy.

The 25 + 25 + 250 Challenge 

My challenge is to complete:

- 25 marathons,

- 25 half marathons, and

- 250 10km runs 

A lot of these runs will be virtual runs as it would be so difficult to find enough organised events for all 300 runs! I've already completed the following organised events:

- Manchester, Edinburgh, Chicago, Boston, New York City and London Marathons

Next up is the 2024 Berlin marathon on 29th September 2024!

The minimum distance that I will cover during the challenge is 4,083km and I aiming to complete it in mid 2024. Every run will be recorded on my Strava account so that I can keep you all updated (check out the runs lower down this page). I'm hoping that you'll dig deep into your pockets to donate to this worthy charity. No matter how big or small, every donation will be a huge motivation for me to keep going. Every penny of every pound raised will directly support the cause as Friends of ANCHOR's operating costs are covered by local firm Balmoral Group.

Friends of ANCHOR has served oncology and haematology patients throughout the North-east of Scotland, including Orkney and Shetland, since the ANCHOR Unit opened in 1997. Run by a small team and stewarded by a committee comprised of senior representatives from the ANCHOR Unit wards and clinics, and the business community, the charity’s founding aim was, and remains to this day, to provide the best possible treatment, care and support to patients.
