Stephanie Moore MBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund in partnership with Cancer Research UK, following the death of her husband, Bobby Moore, from bowel cancer. The Bobby Moore Fund is now a leader in the fight against bowel cancer, funding research that’s helping more people to survive than ever before.

Story

Hello Everyone, Thanks for coming to our fundraising site!

We are off to Everest on 12th December 08.  It is a 20 day trek in Nepal, our aim is to get above Everest base camp at Kala Pattar (5545 meters) It is an incredible challenge, trekking at high altitude but to see the highest mountain in the world will live with us forever.

We are covering the cost of the Trek ourselves but have decided to raise money for Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research.  Suzanne reached the summit of Kilimanjaro in 2001 for the charity and Matt is a West Ham season ticket holder so it had to be Bobby Moore Fund!!  We are trekking with a fantastic company called Safejourneys, and have been put through our paces training in Scotland.

We would like to thank everyone for helping us raise money for the charity, including Berghaus who are supplying all our kit!!! and LA Fitness Billericay who have given Suzanne 6 month complimentory membership to help her get extremely fit, especially after fracturing her skull in April!!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support, and keep an eye out for us in local and national press!!
