You might remember last year that I did a whole series of challenges set by your good selves as part of Challenge Maya.  Well that was really fun as I got to learn new skills and push myself out of my comfort zone, but a whole year of different challenges was quite exhausting!!  Not that I'm one to shirk a bit of hard work/commitment and I'm hoping this challenge will show you that.

So instead of lots of different challenges, I wanted to do one big challenge and I hope you agree that this is big enough!   So where do you go after completing a marathon? well it appears by entering the world of ultra running! 

On the 18th September, I will be running 50 miles, yes miles!!!! around Ladybower Reservoir (which is absolutely not flat!) I have 13 hours in which to complete this challenge which I'm oddly looking forward to.  Since loosing our beautiful daughter Laila, she has made me push myself to do things that I didn't ever think I could do in her memory.

It is now 2 years since we opened up our day centre in Hemsworth in West Yorkshire.  We provide support to families who have children with complex health and learning needs, life threatened and life limiting conditions.  It has been wonderful to see the difference over the past 2 years to the lives of the children and their parents that we support.  And with your help we can continue to help grow our services.  Thank you to all you wonderful people that have supported and continue to support us over the years.  You really do make a huge difference to their lives.  Thank you on behalf of the families we support, myself, Steve, Reuben and of course our little Laila xxx
