Kemp Hospice Parachute Jump · 9 May 2015 ·

Based in the heart of the Wyre Forest, KEMP Hospice offers free specialist care and support to patients, families and carers who are dealing with life limiting illness and bereavement. We’re by their side in our day hospice, in their home or virtually, as they face some of their toughest times.

Story

Kemp Hospice is a charity in Kidderminster quite close to our hearts, and we have taken part in their Santa Fun run for the last few years to support them.  Whilst this really is great fun we felt we wanted to do something a little more daring this time.  So, five of us in the Mayflex IT Department have decided it will be a great idea to jump out of a fully functional aeroplane whilst strapped to some complete stranger who, hopefully, will know how to operate a parachute!  These five idio….errr members of staff are:

Adam Roberts

Dean Munro

Jason Barton

Martyn Bassett

Jon Beech

..and we will be doing this on 9th May at Hinton Airfield, Brackley.

To make it more interesting one of our colleagues in Marketing, Caroline White, works at the airfield and will very likely be packing some of our parachutes.  Needless to say we will be extremely helpful to Caroline over the next few months!

We have created a poster as a bit of fun which you can see on the page.  We do have a target of £2,000 between us which is the minimum we need to raise, but it would be great if we can raise more than that as every penny above that figure goes directly to Kemp.  Therefore, we would really appreciate it if you could sponsor us with however much you can spare, every bit helps us towards our goal.

We have a firsthand insight into the great work that Kemp do and know how much they rely on donations to fund this.  If you are interested in finding out more about the charity the website is here www.kemphospice.org.uk

We are also having a vote where people who can sponsor can influence what we wear on the jump.  Please feel free to put one of the options below in your comment and we will go with the majority.  We will be having a video made of the jump which we will post to the page when it’s all done so you will see the result of your vote.

Options:

  1. KEMP T-Shirts
  2. Superheroes
  3. Umpa Lumpas
  4. Crash Test Dummies
  5. Formal Suits
