Now it is the time of the year for Oxfam Trail walker.

Our team is named MAYO taken the initial of all 4 team mates in Thomson Reuters Japan office.

 

Madoka will be challenging her 3 year of Oxfam, and boldly other 3, Olcay, Youichi, Aya are new challengers this year 2013

to engage 100 KM Trail walk..

We will be staying  the course by all means, even tagging along and aiming to achieve great goal for fighting poverty in the world!

Oxfam Trailwalkerとは

 

オックスファム・トレイルウォーカーは4人1組のチームで参加する世界的に行われているウォーキング・イベントです。自分の体力に挑戦

すると同時に、参加をきっかけに寄付金を集めて国際協力に貢献するというもうひとつの挑戦が用意された企画で、これまでにオーストラリア、

ニュージーランド、イギリス、香港、オランダ、カナダ、ベルギー、アイルランドで開催され、日本でも2007年から毎年開催されています。

第5回目となる2011年には、142チームが参加し、44,798,654円もの寄付金が集まりました。

 

寄付金は、国際協力団体オックスファムの実施する途上国の紛争・災害時の緊急支援、教育・農業支援などの国際協力活動に使われ、人々

が貧困から立ち上がるために役立てられています。

 

トレイルウォーカーの主催は、民間の国際協力団体、（特活）オックスファム・ジャパン。貧困問題の解決に向けて世界98ヶ国で活動する

オックスファムは世界的に高く評価され、今までノーベル平和賞に3回ノミネートされています。

Oxfam Trailwalker is a challenging endurance fundraising event in which teams of 4 complete 100km trail through bush terrain in 48hours.

Oxfam Trailwalker is a growing global phenomenon. It has taken place in 11 different countries across Australia, New Zealand, China

(Hong Kong), the UK, Netherlands, Canada, Belgium, Ireland and Japan.

 

The donations have been used to implement projects in many of the poorest regions of the world to help end poverty and provide vital relief

following natural disasters and conflict.
