We fund antibiotic resistance research to fight AMR today & tomorrow

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In just the 8 months we have all been doctors, not a day has gone by where there isn't some consideration of antibiotics for our patients: if they should be given them, if they are on the correct regimen, how long they should take them for and so on. It is because of antibiotics that we are able to perform surgery, treat otherwise potentially lethal infections and prevent recurrence. However clever bacterial evolution means antibiotic resistance is on the rise and has the potential to be a global catastrophe. Antruk (Antibiotic research UK) is doing amazing research to fight antibiotic resistance and generate new therapies. Very few people will be unaffected if antibiotic resistance increases, so this is a crucially important area of research to support.

Plus we're running 26.2 miles so surely we deserve some kudos for that!

Thank you so much for reading and (hopefully) donating. We really appreciate it and so will all our patients in years to come!

Amy, John and Greta.
