Story
Dear All
It's over - thank goodness!! I can't say the reported gorgeous scenery made any difference to the pain of running up a number of long hills, but I crossed the finish line on a gorgeous sunny spring day in under 2hours, which had been the secret game plan - 1hr 58mins 10secs - over 3.5mins faster than my time in Bristol last year. A great relief that it's over & Freddie is taking up the challenge next year so I can have time out!
I am raising money once again in aid of The Alzheimer's Society - the UK's leading care & research charity for people with dementia and those who care for them - not least because it is affecting both family and friends.
Everyone's generosity last time was overwhelming and I banked over £2,300 for The Alzheimer's Society. It would give me huge satisfaction to be able to give £3k to the charity though I realise this is ambitious... but I'm nearly there! If you would like to make a donation to supplement the above amount, every penny will be most gratefully received. This website is easy to navigate, will continue to accept donations for 3 months after the event and the charity benefits from Gift Aid if you are a UK tax payer.
Huge thanks for your support
Amelia
