Karen, Ian & Bev completed the 54 miles in 23 hours, finishing at 7 am on the Sunday morning; Lisa had to drop out at 42 miles with exhaustion.

The team were supported by staff from Melin and a big thanks is owed to them for keeping evrybody fed and wwatered and keeping their spirits high.

The whole experience was amazing.

The Melin Trekkers are Karen Jones, Ian Hall, Bev Jones & Lisa Hopkins; and their support team is Alan Hughes & Caroline Morgan.

The Thunder Walk is a 54 mile walk across the Brecon Beacons, that has to be completed within 24 hours, starting at 8 am on Saturday 12th May 2012.

The team started training in September and have recently completed the three peaks challenge; with many more training miles required before the big day.

The team's chosen charity is Multiple Sclerosis and we are hoping to raise at least £2,500.  So far the fundraising has included:

* Crumpet and cake morning at Melin in May £50.50
