2010 Adidas Women's 5K Challenge · 5 September 2010 ·

Refuge opened the world’s first refuge in West London in 1971. We support thousands of women & children every day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.

Story

On the 5th of September, 2010, Amy and Meredith Berman aka Team Berman will be running at the adidas Women's 5k Challenge for Refuge.

Refuge is a charity in aid of women and children that experience domestic violence.

Refuges' aim is to raise awareness of domestic violence among every group in the UK: children, young people and adults; MPs, government ministers and policymakers; the professionals abused women and children turn to for support (eg doctors, teachers, lawyers and judges).

Domestic violence is a problem which touches us all and we all have a part to play in ending it. The cost to society – both financially and in terms of human suffering – is immeasurable.

By giving whatever you can, you will contribute to this amazing cause.  And as an extra bonus, you have the entertaining value of watching the Berman girls run (or if not in London- imagining it.  Laughable, really!).

Please do help with whatever you can, it is greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much, and we will see you at the run (September 5th!).
