As promised, this is my second fundraising challenge of 2018. The first was Dry January, when you helped me raise an amazing £400 for York Mind.
This time the challenge is to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks route in under 12 hours. The version I'll be doing is approximately 23 miles in length (37km) with an elevation gain of over 1000m. I'll be attempting it on 25 August.
My charity of choice is SASH (https://www.sash-uk.org.uk/) who support 16-25 year olds in York, North Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and Hull at risk of homelessness. I strongly encourage you to read their website for some of the invaluable work they do.
I've chosen to do this for my own health (mental and otherwise), and I've chosen SASH because I was once one of those young people at risk of homelessness, and because it's impossible to ignore the rising number of people living on the streets in the UK. Let's not have any more young, vulnerable people among them.
