The fires that hit Australia every single year are absolutely devastating. All you need to do is google “Australian fires” and you’re flooded with pictures and stories year after year,  of people losing their lives, their loved ones, their homes, their pets, their live stock and some already endangered Australian wildlife. These images not only make your heart hurt but these images are real. 

When choosing a charity to support, I have gone back and forth between them all, do I support the firemen who risk their lives? Do I support the Red Cross who save lives or do I support the animals that will have no life without the care of wildlife care groups?  I chose WIRES, a NSW based company that have thousands of volunteer wildlife carers around Australia who give their time for free, to save wild animals who wouldn’t have a hope to survive without them. The bushfires have been devastating (I’ve used that word a lot but nothing else seems to be fitting) year after year but every year it seems a little worse. Koalas in particular are suffering more and more as they are under great threat, now an endangered species.

WIRES do so much for the native wildlife in Australia, please open your hearts and help WIRES out, especially in these times of need. Your donations will help fund the rescue, medical attention and survival of Australian wildlife. You’ll also be supporting the amazing volunteers who physically care for the wildlife out of their own pockets.
