My name is Michelle Parry and I am a professional Musician and music tutor in Bury St Edmunds.
I am 34 years old and suffer from degenerative disease in the spine. In the last 18 months I have had 3 major spinal surgeries and been in and out of a wheelchair. Unfortunately the problem is getting worse and I am due to have further surgery at some point this year. This will be a major operation to FUSE my spine and put metal rods in to hold it together.

It has been a difficult few years but my music has kept me going. I have also had an incredible amount of support from the MUSICIANS UNION / MUSICIANS BENEVOLENT FUND and HELP MUSICIANS UK.

So to give something back and make people aware of the incredible work these charities do and also shed some light on the debilitating disease highlighting those that deal with CHRONIC PAIN every day.

I have decided to organise a large CHARITY EVENT in the Apex Bury St Edmunds Suffolk on Saturday August 27th, to raise money for the charity, https://www.helpmusicians.org.uk. They have been an immense support whilst I have struggled over the last few years with the degeneration in my spine, and been in and out of a wheel chair. They have funded some of my treatment and financially keep me afloat whilst I have been unable to work.

Help Musicians UK is the leading UK charity for professional musicians of all genres, from starting out through to retirement.


The plan is for the evening to be a relaxed event, with tables laid out and a dance floor in front of the stage. Headlining the evening will be the band i am lead singer for, Turntable [ www.turntableband.co.uk ] . The NATIONAL charity Help Musicians and the Musicians Union will be involved in publicising and marketing the event.
