Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Well I am now back having been able to reach Gilman`s Point at 5685 metres(18,740 feet) one of the three recognised peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro. The reward was to see a magnificent red African sunrise shedding its light on Kilimanjaro`s huge crater. That really was a fulfilled objective for me.
The night climb was especially difficult as it began on steep scree which led to an even steeper boulder scramble as time went on. The amount of energy that needs to be expended at this height should not be underestimated and recovery time takes longer than at a lower level. However staying in one position was not an option because of the intense cold.
I have been very proud to be part of Team Shooting Star and will never forget the friendships that were forged during this highly memorable Easter time. We were all able to support each other during good times and periods of adversity and to stretch ourselves both physically and mentally on this demanding challenge.
Thank you to all who have sponsored me so far and it is not too late to make a donation if you wish. Do please look at our fantastic website on:-
