When life gets tough or it feels like there's nowhere to turn, Barnardo's is here. We make sure children and young people feel safer, happier and more hopeful by directly supporting them with specialist services across the UK. We have been changing childhoods and changing lives for over 150 years.

Story

So what exactly is Barnardos Borneo Challenge?

On the 12th September 2008 I will travel to Borneo to take up this 3 part challenge.

We start with a 2 day climb of Mount Kinabalu, at over 13,000 feet this is the tallest mountain in South East Asia. After a (brief) day's rest we begin the 2nd part of the challenge, cycling 170km (over 100 miles in old money) through the jungle paths & tracks of the Crocker Range over 2 days. Another brief rest & on to the 3rd & final challenge, a whitewater raft journey down the Pados river through the scary Pados Gorge.

I hope this is a challenge worthy of your support, I know the Charity is. To find out further details of the work Barnardos carries out in the UK please visit www.barnardos.org.uk
