The Miller's Vanguard 3 Peaks Challenge · 25 June 2014

Bury Hospice provides palliative and end-of-life care to hundreds of residents and their families across Bury. It will cost to run the Hospice this year £4.5million and we raise 87% of this total, but with the support of our community we continue to provide care and services to those who need it.

Story

This June a group of employees from Miller's Vanguard will be setting out to conquer the 3 peaks challenge to help raise money for Bury Hospice. There will a number of teams taking part and even our MD Mr Brent Miller will be putting on his hiking boots all in aid of this great charity.

The National Three Peaks Challenge is an event in which participants attempt to climb the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales within the space of 24 hours.  Walkers climb each peak in turn, and are driven from the foot of one mountain to the next. The three peaks are:

* Ben Nevis (1,344 m or 4,409 ft), the highest mountain in Scotland

* Scafell Pike (978 m or 3,209 ft), the highest mountain in England

* Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa (1,085 m or 3,560 ft), the highest mountain in Wales

The total distance walked is estimated at 42 kilometres (27 miles),with a total ascent of 9,800 feet (3,000 m).

Bury Hospice is close to the heart of many empoyees at Miller's Vanguard and realise the importance this charity brings to the community and every penny helps so please dig deep.
