Story

Thanks for visiting my Race for Life page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online - it's quick, easy and totally secure.

This year I am entering the Race for life for my Fantastic Grandma who sadly got diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 2013!  Shes been amazingly strong and brave and has become massive inspiration in my life (not that she wasn't already) , She's managed  to fight through endless chemotherapy treatments , some lasting a painfully seven to eight hours, in which I've sat with her along the way. In early January this year she  underwent a operation which on top of her chemo made her ill and weak, fast forward 6 weeks and she's up fighting again against another 3 chemotherapy treatments. Shes recently finished her Chemotherapy treatments after been unable to continue with the two drugs due to the damage, yet has finished her course managing to handle the one drug. Shes been strong and positive managing to kick cancer out of her life, and the damage that comes with it, i decided to run the race for life 2014 as feel should give something back to show her how much her recovery means to me

I also feel by participating in the Race for Life I am able to show how much support the cancer nurses give to the patients and how cancer really does effect the whole family not just the one primarily effected.

But above all this I am participating for my grandma who I love with all my heart and who with her positive attitude will overcome this heartbreaking condition.

Please feel free to donate however big or small, as Every little counts and its such a good cause that really needs our help.

update; In may 2014 we finally got the news of the ALL CLEAR, although she isn't completely better as yet the cancer has been significantly reduced meaning she no longer needs any further treatment and can continue with her normal life when she's feeling herself again, As yet she struggles with side effects from the drugs but everyday is getting stronger, I am so so proud and happy and hope that by partaking in this fantastic cause, I am able to show this to her, and can hopefully show how proud of her I am.
