I have chosen to donate to The Heamophiliac Society as my brother suffers from this disorder, so I have grown up with it all my life.

Haemophilia is genetic disorder that is carried by females and affects males, it affects the bodies ability to repair and the blood to clot. I was told that I was not a carrier, but then during my pregnancy discovered that I was, this led to extensive invasive and dangerous tests to diagnose the status of my unborn son.

Thankfully Max does not have Haemophilia and was born healthy, so this theoretically hopefully ends the chain in our family. Watching Max grow up healthy helps me to appreciate the basic things that we often take for granted in a childs development.

Max and I are undertaking our challenges to help raise money for families that are affected by this disorder and the Haemophiliac Society that has given support to us and many others.

I will be running a 12km obsatcle course and Max a 1km obstacle course. I only started running less than a year ago to help me recover from illness, so I hope you will agree this could be an amazing achievement and I know how lucky Max and I have been.

Just to update you all we completed our challenges and Max pushed himself on and completed an amazing 2km obstacle course, I also completed my 12km obstacle course in over 2 hrs sorry I don't have exact timings but it wasn't about times for me but completion. I have now set myself a new challenge in June a 10 mile obstacle course, bring it on!!
