Story

Many of you knew my Dad, Morcom Woodley as either a relative, friend or through Morcom Woodley Electrical Services. He was a man that always had time for anyone, had a funny moment or joke to share, always helped and took the time to listen, putting others first.  He took charge of any situation that was presented to him.  He was a proud and caring family man who had a passion for the Cornish coast where he and my mum, Marie enjoyed many holidays with their labradors. He loved wildlife and was a keen deerstalker and field sportsman together with my brother Ellis.   He also enjoyed spending time with Martin and I and our two sons who loved their Grandad.

In April 2012 Dad was diagnosed with an aggressive rare cancer (large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma.) in his liver.Only 1 in 1000 cancer patients develop a neuroendcrine cancer, and only 20% of those 1 in 1000 develop this rare cancer.   There is therefore little or no research on this cancer and so treating it is very difficult.

Unfortunately Dad sadly lost his battle to the cancer on 18 July 2012 at age 61.  He truly was an inspiration to us and someone that will live in our memories forever and we will miss so very much.

The Quiet Cancer Appeal (part of the Royal Free Charity in London), raises funds for test and research into neuroendocrine cancers, enabling them to be detected much earlier using new or more effective treatments. Please quote: The Quiet Cancer Appeal Fund 311 when placing your donation.
