Story

Welcome to Morven's Just Giving page. This page has been set up to raise funds for Cystinosis Foundation UK.

Morven was diagnosed with cystinosis at 8 1/2 months old and has been subject to the gruelling medicine regime ever since. Cystinosis is an extremely rare inherited metabolic condition which prevents Morven from processing an amino acid called cystine. The build up of cystine forms crystals which initially impact her kidneys and eyes, and will go on to impact every other organ in her body. The drugs that Morven takes every six hours take steps to reduce her cystine levels and therefore slow her decline but a kidney transplant is inevitable.

By supporting Cystinosis Foundation UK we are looking to assist the charity in meeting its aims which include; supporting cystinotics and their families, raising awareness and promoting research into the treatment of cystinosis.

This is a small charity and as such every penny really does count and will make a real and tangible difference to Morven and other cystinosis sufferers. Medical advances can make massive strides in relatively few years, so we hope that the research into treatments and cures of cystinosis will be able to change the quality of Morven's life sooner rather than later.

We plan to raise money through various avenues on this page but feel free to donate at any time! And don't forget to Gift Aid your donation where possible.
