Story

I’m aiming to raise some money for Katharine House Hospice, even if it’s just a little. My luscious locks will be donated to the Little Princess Trust, who provides free wigs to boys & girls in the UK and Ireland who have lost their hair due to cancer therapy. As well, the more money raised, the more ridiculous (think: atrocious mullet) my subsequent haircut will be.

I would love to donate to Katharine House Hospice because I’m so grateful for all they’ve done for my amazing friend Kyrie Wheeler & her family.

I’m always halfway across the world and unable to be there in person for this beautiful family. It was such a shock when I found out that Kyrie’s dad had oesophageal cancer — he was healthy & young; it wasn’t a differential in my mind. I didn’t realise that the survival rate was 7%, and it didn’t seem applicable; Kevan remained active through chemo and things looked positive. It was a bigger shock when they learnt the cancer had metastasised, was aggressive and deemed incurable. He fought hard & bravely, and with the help of KHH support, Kevan was able to come home from the hospice for 10 days before going back. I want to be able to thank KHH for the care provided to Kevan; managing his medication, elevating his pain and allowing his family to remain by his side for the final days.

Please help the hospice continue to support those needing palliative care. I hope that KHH are able to continue to provide this service free of charge to anyone who is in this desperately sad situation.

I can’t run a marathon to raise funds but can definitely be lazy and cut my hair into a fairly atrocious mullet, as an odd thank you to Katharine House Hospice. If you donate the most, I’m sure you can convince me to get the greatest (worst?) haircut you can dream of.

And even if you can’t donate, that’s cool too :) at least now you’ll know why I will be looking like a weirdo for a while and hopefully will remind you to appreciate life, health & fam a lil more! Thanks for reading!
