Circumnavigation of Britain for the Mudeford Lifeboat

Circumnavigate Britain for the Mudeford Lifeboat · 19 February 2023
Joshua Tooley, Jamie Turner, Tristram Ashforth and Billy Newman;
Round Britain Challenge 2023 - For the Mudeford Lifeboat
We are circumnavigating Britain in a RIB to mark the 60th anniversary of the RNLI Mudeford Lifeboat, and importantly to help raise funds to support our local volunteer team.
The challenge will involve 7 gruelling days of 200+ Nautical Miles each, taking up to 10 hours each day, dependent on weather. This will be a true test of navigation, endurance and technical driving skills! We are funding this challenge entirely ourselves, so any funds raised will go directly to support our local lifeboat station on their 60th anniversary.
We will be stopping in some wonderful locations along the way including; Rock, Milford Haven, Dublin, Bangor, Oban, Inverness, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Lowestoft, London and lastly The Hut on the Isle of Wight!
We are now well prepared, having kitted the boat and ourselves out with all the requirements such as a life raft, personal EPRIB locator beacons, full wet weather gear, 170L of Jerry Cans (that in some locations we will have to personally carry to and from the local petrol station!), a drone, GoPros and engine spares.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, is truly appreciated. Thank you for your help in supporting this fantastic cause.
About Mudeford Lifeboat
This year is the 60th anniversary of the RNLI Mudeford Lifeboat station. There has been a dedicated RNLI volunteer crew saving lives at Mudeford Quay in Christchurch, Dorset since June 1963. The volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service from the RNLI Station at Mudeford Quay, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the local busy beaches.
