We are now in Muharram and, in this sacred month, we are
reminded of the significance of clean drinking water with every passing second.
The following Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is testament to the
importance that Islam attaches to providing drinking water:

“The best form of charity is giving water (to drink).” (Narrated by Ibn Majah)

Today, 1.2 billion people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water and 2,200 children die every day due to water-borne diseases.
You now have an opportunity to make a difference and save lives by sponsoring AKF’s water projects. Your donations will benefit millions of people in countries, including Pakistan, Kenya, Palestine, Bangladesh, Somaliland, Uganda, Nepal, Iraq, Afghanistan and India.

- Al-Khair Foundation has installed nearly 20,000 hand pumps, almost 3,000 water wells and 70 water filtration units globally.

- AKF has drilled 12 deep boreholes in Africa, each catering to 100,000 - 300,000 people.

- More than 5,782 water tankers are replenished globally through our water trucks.

-  We have installed water filtration plants and more than a thousand water wells in Pakistan.

- In Somaliland, AKF is operating daily water trucks to deliver water to 9,000 people in the remotest areas.

- Over 23,000 people benefit from our water tank towers and shallow wells all-year-round in Kenya.

- In Gaza, we supply safe drinking water to thousands of families, 10 schools, 10 mosques and 2 hospitals.
