Carn Oasda for Aria · 3 September 2016

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

My work colleagues, friends and family are planning to walk the Carn Aosda Munro at Glenshee on September 3rd at 10am to raise money for the CLIC Sargent Charity on behalf of my little sister Aria who was diagnosed with leukaemia in October last year.

CLIC provided accommodation and support for my Dad, Kim and my other little sister Sophia when Aria was in Edinburgh Sick Kids hospital for months undergoing her cancer treatments. CLIC continue to help and support our family so we chose to donate to them as a thank you for the essential care and help they have given.

Aria is currently in remission which is amazing and hopefully very soon she will be in maintenance. She has been through some very tough times so far but always has a smile on her face. Aria has spent 6 months out of 8 in hospital, mostly in the intensive care/high dependency wards. Due to some complications Aria had to have a tracheotomy procedure to help her breathing but she is getting on great with it. This will be removed after all her treatment is finished in around 2 years time. Aria turns 3 in August and will hopefully start nursery this year. She is so strong and the bravest person we know! She is our little hero!

Thank you in advance to everyone taking part and for sponsoring.

Aria Update 1/09/16: Aria is officially in maintenance which is amazing!!! She started nursery the day after turning 3 which is so good and lovely to see her enjoying herself. Aria is also back on her feet, she will hopefully be running around soon once she gets her confidence back :-)

Again a massive thank you to everyone for doing this walk and for the very kind sponsors!!
