Memory Walk
Campaign by Alzheimer's Society (RCN 296645)
This year over 110,000 people walk united, against dementia. We aim, with your help to raise over £9 million to help anyone affected by dementia.

Story

As many people know, I Cared for my Dad, Terry, throughout his battle with Dementia. I walked side by side with my Dad, and it was a journey which I was deeply honoured, and indeed humbled, to have taken.  I lost my Dad on 27th of November 2015.  I am doing this walk, on my 43rd Birthday, 19 September 2017, in memory of my beloved Dad, and to raise, much needed Funds, for Dementia.  I have battled Agoraphobia my entire adult life, so this walk is HUGE to me, it will take every single ounce of my Mental, and Emotional stamina.  I'm walking The Loch Eck Loop, a route of approximately 21 miles, as Loch Eck, was my Dad's favourite Loch in Scotland.  My Dad was born, and raised in Gourock, and was a well known local Goalkeeper, and Referee, as well, as serving in Greenock Police in the early 1960's, under Inspector Grey.  My Mum is from Greenock, Patsy Cullen.  My Mum and Dad moved all over the World, due to my Dad's career, but always kept a Family home here in Dunoon.  My Dad loved Argyll.  My Mum has, and is still battling Cancer, from July 2015, and it is only now, that I can, take a breath, and do this walk for my Dad.  Please help me to fulfill the last stage of my Dad and I's journey.  This walk has been sanctioned by the Alzheimer's Society, and as such, the Society has FULL access to this page, via passwords.  Indeed, this page was created via the Alzheimer's Society link.  Thank you, and God Bless .... Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year – that's the equivalent to one person every three minutes. This September and October Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for a world without dementia. Arm in arm, step by step and pound by pound, we will get there. Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the Alzheimer's Society. So it's the most efficient way to raise money – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Please dig deep and help us walk for a world without dementia.
