Memory Walk 2018
Campaign by Alzheimer's Society (RCN 296645)
This year over 110,000 people walk united, against dementia. We aim, with your help to raise over £9 million to help anyone affected by dementia.

Story

We’ve decided together to raise money for a cause which is close to our hearts. My grandpa has had dementia now for a very long time. He is an incredible man, working at Rolls Royce for the majority of his life, raising 4 children with his wife (my beautiful nan who cares for him everyday), his love of flying (anything with an engine in actual fact) and gliding around the Hertfordshire skies. I was fortunate enough to have good memories of him growing up; being rather competitive at computer games, hopping around the garden with a broken leg after the motorbike accident, frog leaping over bollands in town. Sadly my younger cousins have only ever known him with dementia, in actual fact they have truely been robbed because of his dementia. Three generations of our family will be walking together to raise money to support other families like us, please support in any way you can. I really appreciate you taking the time to read this. Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year – that's the equivalent to one person every three minutes. This September and October Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for a world without dementia. Arm in arm, step by step and pound by pound, we will get there. Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the Alzheimer's Society. So it's the most efficient way to raise money – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Please dig deep and help us walk for a world without dementia.
