As you will have gathered a group of slightly eccentric women have decided to take on the challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro to help raise funds for a small rural maasai school in northern Tanzania called Mwalimu's school.  It is a wonderful school just outside the Serengeti national park in Loliondo and teaches kids from the local community up to the ages of 11.  Please do take a look at the video on the left, which Christine put together following a recent visit.  Or you can click http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQ8WVRAhIvI.

We will be doing the trek in 8 days using the Lemosho route, and hopefully the altitude sickness won't hit us to hard and we will all make it to the top.  We've all got over the shock of the infamous Kilimanjaro loos, and the final day of 13-14 hours walking starting at midnight.  But I hope you will agree its all for a good cause. 

So we very much hope you will be able to sponsor us.  Any amount you donate will go directly to the school.  The Tusk Trust has very kindly agreed to collect our fundraising on behalf of the Nomad Trust.  The Nomad Trust is based in Tanzania, and works directly with Mwalimu school and community and conservation projects in Tanzania. 

As you will see from the video the school has lots of plans and your kind donation will be used to help them achieve these, from helping to complete work on the teachers block, to providing resources for the school children, or providing a solar generator to provide eletric, which the school currently does not have.
