Story
Over three decades of war has crippled every major institution in Afghanistan. The war still continues and civilians are caught in the conflict between the Western-backed Afghan government and other factions, including the Taliban. Perhaps what makes this conflict more complex is not only are civilians caught in the crossfire, but there is also no air ambulance or effective ground ambulance service victims, even within Kabul, Afghanistan’s capital city.
In Afghanistan you can’t call 999; there is no emergency service available in most of the country. When explosions happen, when the roads are rocked with bombs and streets destroyed, there are no sirens that echo in the background.
Kabul has 22 districts and a population of 4.3 million, and yet, there are reportedly less than a dozen official governmental ambulances, which have been funded by HRM. These Emergency ambualnces have so far functioned in 2 provinces and contributed in serving 1800000 people by transporting patients from traffic accidents, terrorist attacks or other emergency situations.
I have pledged to raise £7000, half the price for a new ambulance vehicle which will be operating to serve wretched civilians of Afghanistan. This will be donated to HMR, who will purchase the ambulance and get it running in the streets of Afghanistan.
You can make a difference, you can save lives by contributing to this. Whether its a small amount or not, every little contribution helps. Let's help provide the basic and most important service that every human is intitled to.
