Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
This page is in memory of my Nanny Marandola.
My Nanny was born on the 20th September 1931 in Edinburgh. At the age of 9 she was diagnosed with Diabetes.
In 1949, at the age of 18, my Nanny met my Granddad and went on to get married on the 26th December 1951. They had 2 sons and a daughter (my mother) and, to date, have 9 grand children and 8 great grand children.
Nanny enjoyed nothing more than being with her family, bingo and trailing around charity shops looking for a bargain!
Suddenly but peacefully my Nanny passed away on the 19th January 2008 at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. She will be sorely missed but always remembered by her family and friends.
It was my Nanny's wish to leave money to Diabetes UK and now it 's my turn to raise money to help other people with this condition.
Now, Lets get down to business!
Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition.
Many thanks for your support.
