I am running the London Marathon in order to raise awareness of Pulmonary Hypertension. As many of you know, my mum died from this debilitating illness which affects around 8000 people in the UK.
PH is a serious medical condition that can damage the right side of the heart, making it less efficient at pumping blood around the body. The side effects include breathlessness and fatigue to the extent where many patients are unable to leave the house.
Currently there is no cure for PH. Through this run I would like to raise both awareness and money to help improve the lives of those suffering from the illness and to fund research to help find a cure.
