Story

## Weight loss so far = 31 pounds in 17 weeks. ##

At the age of 25 I shouldn't be at a stage in my life where there is always a high possibility of a heart attack or my joints being permenantly damaged from the load they have been forced to carry.

I have in the past tried every diet going and at times I have been successful, but more often than not, after not losing as much as I want to or feeling like I'm missing out I have lost my motivation and given up.

When my Nan passed away in July I felt I had let her down in some way by being how I was. This spurred me on to regularly attend exercise classes at the gym and change my eating habits. It has been difficult but I have managed to lose a couple of stone and the exercise has improved my health and fitness. I really enjoy attending my classes, I have great instructors and have made some great friends.

Whilst at the gym I saw an advertisement for the Biggest Loser and being a lover of the television show I immediately ran over to it. For 18 weeks I could compete with 19 others to lose as much weight as possible and raise money for The Hospice of St Francis at the same time. This was the perfect opportunity for me to make a real difference to my life and others with the money I could raise.

The competition starts 05/01/12 and lasts for 18 weeks. During that time I will participate in weekly weigh ins and group exercise classes. I have taken 3 weeks off work in January and I will be spending all my spare time down the gym and taking part in exercise classes to achieve my goals. My main goal is to lose as much weight as possible but I have set weekly goals for exercise and weight loss which I will update each week. My goal for the first week is to lose 4lb and to do 10 lower abdominal crunches.

I am overjoyed that I have been selected for this competition and I have never felt more motivated and able to finally lose this weight. With your donation we can really make a difference to the many people cared for by the Hospice of St Francis.
