Hi Guys.

As most of you know by now over the last few years I have become quite an enthusiastic runner bean. To date I have taken part/competed in quite a few races across the country and have yet to raise any money or pester anyone for donations BUT NOW IS THE TIME.

Now, whilst I could have just entered the next 10K race and asked everyone to whack a couple of quid on here... I decided this was not going to be the way to raise any REAL money. I want to push the boundaries on what I can do - and what you guys can give.

SO for this reason I am going to aim (injury dependent) to run 1000 miles in the build up to running in the Manchester marathon in April 2013. That is 1000 miles in 30 weeks which means running an average of 33 miles every week from now until April.

Raise the Roof Kenya are a really great charity set up by a friend of the wonderful Jessica Garland. I have seen first hand (and heard a lot about) the incredible effort and hard work so many people have put in in order to raise money for the charity and I really want to get involved.

So far RTRK has raised money for school fees, medical bills, housing and even small businesses for the people of Kenya and now they have an even bigger mission. The Barut Development Centre Build intends to provide the community (which is the poorest in the area) with a sports ground, community centre and vocational school so people can gain education and training to go on and live sustainably in the future.

With the land now secured, RTRK need to raise £100,000 in 2012 to turn this plan into reality - so please please donate and be a part of something great.
