Story
Hey! We are a young group of 16-18 year old students with working with #NCS and hope to create a successful mini-festival that brings the community together. We've got a massive time constraint, so its become a real challenge to get this thing going, but we're motivated. So, here's our short story.
On Monday, we went out into Sutton high street and spoke with passing strangers to find issues in our area, and found there was a massive issue of age groups not mixing about. So, we've committed ourselves to creating a festival that passing strangers can attend. It'll have bean bag throwing, target practice with footballs, a bingo, chess, guess who, uno and many other little games that everyone can try.
We mixed together all our ideas in a single morning, and pitched it to the Mayor of Sutton herself in person. She was super impressed with us and committed to getting additional funding for us through the council itself.
We came together and budgeted, eventually coming to a conclusion of £46 required to purchase all our equipment. However, the goal of the event is not to make tons of money, we simply wish to bring the town together and have fun. We found a charity to support, JIGSAW4U, so rest assured any additional funds would go straight to them.
We're planning on hosting this at Manor Park, in Sutton. It'll be in 2 days, so we hope you could donate to us before then.
Like i said at the start, we're just a group of 15 young people wanting to make a difference. Any sum of money means the world to us as we try to make our town a better place, even for a day.
Thanks so much
