As a student I befriended a homeless guy called Phil. His addictions had led him to losing his family, his home, and his comfy life. He reminded me how most of us are only a few poor decisions away from losing everything.

As a result I ended up volunteering for a soup kitchen, but over the years life has got in the way, and I've lost touch with some of the friends I made in the process. By sleeping rough for just one night I hope to do a small bit to help raise vital charity funds, and also to remind myself just how lucky I am.
