Story
A year ago I set myself the challenge of completing the Five Islands Ultra race. Starting on the 23rd May I will be running 110 miles round five of the Channel Islands in three days.
Starting at 7am on the 23rd May I will run Jersey (48 miles), 24th May Guernsey (37 miles) 25th May Alderney, Sark, Herm (11,10,4 miles).
Initially this was personal challenge, but having seen the devastation caused by the Earthquake in Nepal I have decided to fundraise for Community Action Nepal (CAN) at the same time.
The international aid agencies will be best placed to help with the larger scale needs of Nepal at this time, but smaller focused charities such as Community Action Nepal are well placed to assist the remote mountain communities it supports, which may be ‘overlooked’ by mainstream aid and support.
I have set myself the challenge to raise £1,100 which is £10 for every mile I will run over the three days. Please give generously if you can.
