Hello sports fans,
What a day! Not only did Man Utd beat Arsenal, but I finished my first ever marathon. I'm really happy to tell you that my official finish time was 3hrs 53 mins! Not quite Paula Radcliffe, but faster than Ben Fogle apparently!!
I started off slowly, hoping that I would have enough energy to pick up the pace later...the crowd were amazing, big thanks to those that made it down. I was buzzing at several points during the race on a massive high. I also felt quite emotional as you understand other peoples motives for completing the race - very inspiring. I felt proud to call London my home, such a great city, runners and spectators made for a great atmosphere.
I put my ipod on around 17 miles and really had to dig in hard to get though the final 6 miles. Great to see TEAM DULAKE out in Bermondsey and Embankment. Even better to finish and go for pizza with them - thanks Mum, Sofia, Lagle, Tim and Paul.
Lastly, BIG THANKS to everybody for all you support and kind words. See you next year?
