Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

We are the Training Services team at NHBC - Rob Lockey, Dave Towell, Craig Baker, Geoff Mann, Julie Norfield, June Raclawski, Louise Bowers, Martin Adlington, Paul Clayton, Paulette Strong, Peter Bradley, Robert Meehan, Tom Anderson and Tony Rawbone along with John Johnston, David Gee and David Hyde (currently working for other departments), Emma Hilton, Sue Georgiou (Marketing and Business Systems) plus Chris Rowley and Graham Tiplady (from H&S Training).

Each year we have a yomp in the hills as a team building event.  (I think it's fair to say that some team members look forward to the event more than others - some have even suggested a team shopping event!!).  However, despite the light-hearted grumbles, everybody always joins in and makes a real effort.

In June this year we are off to the Yorkshire Dales.  There will be a couple of 'challenges' to suit the different abilities in the team with the hardest for the young and/or foolish being a section of the Pennine Way from Malham to Horton-in-Ribblesdale – about 14 miles and taking in Fountains Fell and Pen-y-Ghent.  And at the end is the added challenge of getting back to the pub in time for a pie and pint supper.

Our target is to raise, collectively, at least £1000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.  We all know someone close to us who has been affected by this dreadful illness so please dig deep and donate now.
