Thank you for visiting our ARC fundraising page.
The purpose of this Fund is to honour the memory of Nick Minogue.
Nick died tragically early at the age of 35. He achieved a great deal in his all too short life, being academically brilliant and at the same time highly practical. More important, though, was that Nick showed considerable personal qualities, was much loved by a wide range of friends, and admired by his working colleagues both at University (UEA and UCC) and in the business world (Accenture).
Nick also showed great resilience in the face of debilitating illnesses, and this experience gave him a practical interest in how the treatment and care of people suffering from these illnesses could be improved, through research, through a better understanding of life-work relationships, and through the better management of practical medical and social care.
His immediate family (Martin Minogue, Liz Minogue, Ben Minogue and Sally Gee Minogue) will be responsible for organising the Memorial Fund, though his close friends will also be involved. We believe that the best use of funds raised will be, at least initially, to direct these funds to two main charities, MIND, the mental health charity, and the Arthritis Research Campaign (ARC). Initially this will be through donations, but we also plan to hold specific events, some simply to remember Nick (e.g. A golf day with a Nick Minogue Cup), others specifically to raise funds. In the longer term we hope to consider funding a specific research project in one of Nick’s fields of scientific interest.
Donations are now invited. These may be made through this web page, or by sending cheques made payable to
Martin Minogue, at:
