The photo above was from Race for life 2012, I had just been diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of weeks before. Left to right, me, my daugther Amy, my friends Carol and Lorna,  life was rather scary back then.

Last year I walked 10k with Carol and Lorna and our friend Liz ran 5k.

Thankfully after surgery, chemo, radiotherapy and hormone therapy I am doing fine and along the way I have got to know and become friends with a number of people who haven't made it or are still receiving treatment.

My race this year is dedicated to Lynda and Peggy,  Lynda a long time friend of myself and Chris, keep fighting Lyn, you are so brave, a courageous lady who has had to endure so much over recent years and she can still smile and laugh, a true inspiration.

And for Peggy of The September Sapphires who sadly passed away only days ago. Also Margaret, Sam, Steph  of The September Sapphires. And our family friend Jitka Moudrikova who lost her battle last October.
