Alzheimer's Disease is a plague that affects or will affect most of
us. The prevalence of the disease will only increase as our efforts to
fight other causes of mortality are fruitful. Some of the research in my
group is devoted to understand how AD affects neuronal transmission in our brain. My close family has already been struck by the disease. I
myself carry one allele APOE4 of the apolipoprotein E, giving me twice as much chance as the general population of eventually having it. Alzheimer's research UK is the leading UK charity funding research to fight the disease.
On May 27th 2017 I will run 100 kms, starting from London and (hopefully) ending in Brighton. If you want to support research against AD, would like to help me succeed in my secong ultra marathon, or just fancy the idea of putting me through severe pain, sponsor me.
