Writing things like this is never easy. No matter how many years go by the pain never fades when you lose someone that is your whole world. Its now 5 years ago since my Beautiful Mum and best friend lost her couragous battle to Cancer.
A lot of you wont have had the pleasure of meeting Mum. Part Irish and brought up in a large family she was a Gorgeous lady. I say lady because thats how people described her. Always perfectly made up with Red lipstick and Red nails. Anybody that knew her would tell you she was the kindest person you could meet.
She worked looking after the elderly for many years and worked with the Altzimers society as well as voluntry work and caring for her family. She was selfless and always there to help anyone she could.
She didnt drink, smoke, she ate really healthily and was full of life with a great sense of humour and Twinkly eyes. Her twinkly eyes and humour stayed with her through years of battling with the illness but no matter how hard she fought it just wasnt enough.
I am so blessed to have had such a loving mum. I remeber all the amazing times we had together, all the long chats all the giggles , all the times she gave me words of advice and the special moments we had that can never be taken away. I watched her getting tired and after many years of struggling she eventually passed away. She held me as i took my first few breaths and i held her as took her last. I will forever be proud of my beautiful mum Elissa.
I raise money in her name and to help others who are fighting this terrible disease.
All donations are so greatfully recieved no matter how small. lets pull together and try and help find a cure so other daughters, mothers, sisters and friends don't have to go through the same.
Thank you so much for helpingt. I've always believed that women are strong but put us all together and we are unstoppable. Lets do our bit and make a difference.
