I would like to let you know about a unique challenge I am undertaking this year, in support of, and to raise money for, various cancer charities. The challenge I'm undertaking is an 11 day consecutive marathon walk around the entire coast of Cornwall. The walk will start Thursday 12th May at The Blue Anchor Inn in Helston, and finish at the same place Sunday 22nd May. In total I will walk 301 miles of Cornwall's rugid coastline and be completing a marathon each day!

Other supporters are walking with me some days and we all have reasons for taking on this challenge but for me personally, I am doing this in memory of my mum who died of cancer November 2010. I want to push myself and raise as much money as I can to help fight cancer and support the charities that supported my mum and others like her.

Last year I walked and ran the 44 miles from The Lizard to Lands End in under 12 hours with my mum there to see me finish. This year, sadly she won't be able to see me finish, but now I want to go even further and defeat the entire coast of Cornwall, a place that both my mum and I have always enjoyed.

I am Helston born and feel there is no better place to start and finish than my local, The Blue Anchor Inn. Upon completing this challenge there will be a big celebration at the "Blue" including a Pig roast and live entertainment with cornish singing followed by "Not the Beatles" . The pub will also be keeping track of the walk with a big board showing the stops around the cornish coast and where I will be each day. Anyone is welcome to join in and do as much as they can, but be warned, it isn't for the faint hearted.

This walk is a tribute to anyone we have lost to cancer and to the challenge of the beautiful Cornish coasts.Please don't hesitiate to contact me with any questions, and thank you for taking the time to read about our challenge.
